Smells Like Smoke

The air quality in eastern Washington is still unhealthy. The fires rage on.

This morning, there was a blanket of smoke over the area.

And the sun was struggling to shine through the haze.

But my new lilies were quite happy.

Please send better weather for the fire crews. Rain, but no lightening or wind.

  1. Oh ugh, I hope they’re able to put the fires out soon. In the meantime, stay inside and try not to expose your lungs to that stuff. We occasionally get smoke from fires over 100 miles away since we are downwind from wildfire country and we live at the bottom of a valley, where all of the smog and smoke sits until the delta breezes blow it away. My eyes usually itch and feel parched until then, and my throat is scratchy as if I’m coming down with a cold. I don’t know how firefighters can stand it!
