This post is part of the A-to-Z Challenge.
F is for Fickle, changing your mind easily and often (definition from yourdictionary.com).
When I find myself being fickle about something, I have an internal conversation.
Self 1: What should we do today, plan A or plan B?
Self 2: Hmmm, plan A sounds like fun. So does plan B. What do you think?
Self 1: Oh dear, I don’t know; I can’t decide.
At this point, I tell Self 1 and Self 2 that a random decision (enni meeni minni moe) will be made. And if there are no objections, that will be the plan to follow.
Self 1: Let’s do plan B!
Self 2: I don’t want to do plan B.
Self 1: See, you did have a preference; you just didn’t know it. Plan A it is!
Sounds silly, huh? But it works for me.
BTW – who remembers the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate?

I often end up deciding that I can’t decide and doing nothing.
It’s funny that we were both thinking about the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate award! Well you know what they say about great minds…
I guess you already have a winner on your question….
Your internal conversation sounds like a hoot. How on Earth do they decide anything between them?
I, too, remember the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate. Boy, am I dating myself!
And that’s how you spell “enni meeni minni moe,” eh? 😉
Apparently there are several different spellings. Now there is one more!
I remember the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate! It was from Laugh-In, wasn’t it?
We have a winner! Makes me laugh just remembering that show.
