Technology Rocks On
I work in a cube (not a vacuum) and am surrounded by others, also in cubes. On a computer all day is my life. Thankfully I can plop some headphones on or stick in some ear buds and rock out while working. Years ago, no one was even allowed to listen to music while working. Then came the cassette players, CDs, MP3 players, iPods, and internet radio.
My current fav is my iPod Shuffle which I can clip onto my badge, stick on the headphones and totally rock out. Have to go to the printer area — no problem. Need to slide over to the other side of my cube — easy peasy. And I change my music when I want to and can tap into the Internet and grab new music whenever I want. Gotta luv this technology!!
For years, I have listened to Billy Joel when I’m under pressure at work. There is something about the beat and rhythm that seems to keep me typing away at 130%. Recently I changed it up and am now addicted to Glee music. And a handful of specific artists and their music. Here’s what’s on my currently playlist (besides all 6 of the Glee CDs).
- Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
- Rolling in the Deep by Adele
- Chasing Pavements by Adele
- Stay by Sugarland
- Only Hope by Mandy Moore
- Stop and Stare by One Republic
- Mad World by Adam Lambert
- Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley
- Turning Tables by Adele
- Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers
- Home by Daughtry
- Mercy by Duffy
- Apologize by One Republic
