Disclaimer: Not a Political Comment

I was attending a family dinner tonight. Brother N had his iPad on front of him and was showing off several old pictures that he had recently scanned.

At some point, Sister S made a comment that ended with “OMG.” Usually OMG means “oh my god.” But that meaning didn’t quite match up to the conversation. Brother N asked Sister S “what?” as I’m sure he thought he just misheard her.

Sister S responded with “OMG, Obama Must Go!”. And here is the result:

Yes indeedy, Brother N could not control his guffaw and part of his dinner ended up on the iPad screen.

Two things can be learned from this experience.

  • Don’t guffaw with food in your mouth.
  • Don’t talk politics at dinner.

I know I could come up with several more lessons to learn from this minor explosion, but I don’t want to bother. Any good ideas?

Suck it up and Get on with Housecleaning!

The process of a home refinance usually requires an appraisal. The bank wants to be assured that they are lending their money to a property from which they can recover their $$ if needed.

And that is where I am today–preparing for an appraisal. Thus quick declutter and spit & polish cleaning. Today’s list included vacuuming upstairs and downstairs.

Now you may be wondering about the above photo. It is the contents of the vacuum cleaner emptied into a black lawn bag. No, I was not planning on that much dirt, but did decide to vacuum until the sweat dripped into my eyes and made me blind.

Success! The cats are now plotting their next cat fight so as to leave clumps of fur everywhere I previously vacuumed. I think they enjoy the noise and vibration of the vacuum cleaner. And when I get done, I lay on the couch so they can find a lap or leg to snuggie on.

Actual tossing away junk starts later tonight, after the vacuuming nap. Wish me luck!

MeiMei the Backseat Driver

MeiMei had her annual checkup today. She slipped into the top of her carrier with no problem. When we got to the vet, I let her out with her harness on. She seemed quite calm the entire time.

Them we went into the exam room and she just laid down.

She got weighed, poked, prodded, and received a shot. And also got a little toenail clip job. The vet and the tech praised her for being such a sweetie.

Then we got in the car. Watch and listen to the video to hear the yakking during the ride home. MeiMei usually has a very delicate meow. Not on the ride home!

SUNNI UPDATE: She has been 2 days on antibiotics and seems to be doing well. I have only heard a couple of sneezes since yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed!
